Shrimps look at bounce back on the road at Wanderers

Morecambe will look at climb off the foot of the League One table this weekend with a trip to Buckinghamshire to face Wycombe Wanderers.

There’s full commentary of the game on Beyond Radio tomorrow (Saturday October 29), on our FM and DAB+ services from 2:45pm.

The Shrimps head into the contest looking to find some consistency in their form, having beaten high flying Barnsley at the Mazuma Stadium last Saturday, only to fall to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Cheltenham Town on Tuesday.

Morecambe will be without defender Farrend Rawson and midfielder Ousmane Fane for the encounter. Both are suspended after picking up their fifth cautions of the season in midweek.

Wycombe were also in action in midweek, losing 3-2 at home to Cambridge United.

Manager, Derek Adams, said: ‘’We went into Tuesday’s game with confidence and started the game well.

‘’We made a mistake and were chasing the game after that, but we didn’t play as well as we have done in the past. It was against a team that we feel will be around the same part of the table come the end of the season, and that’s where we need to pick up points.

‘’Three points moves you up the table quickly, and we could have caught a few teams above us. We didn’t, and we now move onto Wycombe on Saturday.

‘’I think we’ve seen it a number of times this season that teams have lost games and the next one becomes more important.

“We haven’t been able to find the killer pass or the right goalscoring opportunities at times.

“We’ve missed players like Caleb Watts, Ash Hunter and Jake Taylor, who can find a through ball.

“Kieran Phillips is always bright for us though, he always has an opportunity in a game where he either scores or hits the target.”
