A second half equaliser from Chris Stokes earned a hard fought point for the Shrimps in South West London.

In a first half of few clear cut chances, the hosts saw a header from a left wing cross easily gathered by Archie Mair, while at the other end, a perfect Jake Taylor through ball was just about smothered by Alex Bass with Ged Garner ready to pounce.

Armani Little then struck a half-volley which flew narrowly wide, before David Tutonda should have done better with an effort when a Joel Senior ball from the right found him in space at the back post. The defender could only sky an effort high over the bar when well placed.

The home side took the lead five minutes after the restart.

Ronan Curtis’ cross from the left was flicked on to Omar Bugiel who side-footed home from the edge of the six yard box.

Bugiel then sent an overhead kick inside the box wide of target.

Morecambe then got back on terms with 16 minutes to play.

Gwion Edwards’ corner wasn’t dealt with, Jacob Davenport kept the ball alive at the back post, and Yann Songo'o crossed for Stokes to convert.

Charlie Brown then couldn’t find the target from a Senior cross, before a fierce drive from Edwards was saved well at the near post.

Playing with momentum, it was nearly a second goal for Ged Brannan’s men moments later after Senior’s cross found Brown in the mix, but he couldn’t divert the ball on target.

Deep into added time, Edwards met a corner into the box at the near post but couldn’t turn the ball toward goal.

Morecambe remain a point outside the League Two playoff places, with a game in hand.
