Morecambe will play their 100th competitive game as a League One club this weekend as the Shrimps welcome Oxford United to the Mazuma Stadium.
Derek Adams’ squad begin the weekend still inside the League One relegation zone, two points from safety with nine games to play, ahead of facing an Oxford side playing for the first time under their new boss, Liam Manning. They are also on a run of nine defeats in 10 matches, during which they sacked former manager Karl Robinson.

The Shrimps are looking to bounce back from Tuesday’s disappointing 4-1 defeat against Charlton Athletic at the Mazuma Stadium, which was just Morecambe’s second defeat in 13 home games.
Oxford lie in 19th in the table, just three points above the Shrimps.
Defender Max Melbourne and midfielder Jake Taylor are definitely absent, while Jacob Bedeau is also likely to miss out as he continues to recover from a swollen knee.
The game will see Morecambe FC support #HerGameToo as the club continues to back the battle against sexism in football.
Founded in May 2021, #HerGameToo is a voluntary organisation run by female football fans; who are committed to growing the campaign with the aim of fostering an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally.
