Lancaster and Morecambe club runners 'gallop' to great times

LMAC runners at the Garstang 7 Mile Gallop

It has been another busy few weeks for Lancaster and Morecambe Athletics Club including taking part in a '7 Mile Gallop'!

The LMAC celebrated a club record in February, with Matthew Knowles running the Armagh International Road Race 5K in 14.03.

Two club runners made the trip to Malta to take part in the half marathon on February 26 - Carole and David Wilkinson completed it in 1.51.13 and 1.51.37.

Mikes Roy competed in the Trafford 10K on March 5 and finished with a time of 39.16. Emily Stapleton ran the New Longton 10K a week later, completing it in 52.09.

In the Take the Fell runs in Preston on March 5, Christina McGuire ran 20K in 2.01.44, and Steve Perry did the 10K in 1.06.17.

The England v Wales Chester 10k took place on March 12, Mark Leadbeater and Matt Guilder represented LMAC, finishing in 34.20 and 36.39 respectively.

Four LMAC runners took part in the Trimpell 20 mile run and Beau Smith finished second place overall, with an incredible time of 1.56.43!

In another Trimpell race, the 10 mile Golden Ball, Mikes Roy finished in 1.05.45.

Lancaster Race Series hosted a 10K Mother’s Day run, and Kieran Rowlands finished third overall!

The last weekend of March was also busy for the club’s members. In the Coniston 14-mile run on March 25, Alan Summer finished with 1.46.47, and Christina McGuire with 2.05.22.

On March 26, Holly Satterly ran the Sheffield Half Marathon in 1.49.38, and Mikes Roy and Emily Stapleton ran the Wilmslow Half Marathon in 1.46.31 and 1.55.30 respectively.
