John McGuinness said he was happy with his results at this year's Isle of Man TTs after rounding off his week with a Top 5 finish in the blue riband race.

'The Morecambe Missile' came fifth in the Milwaukee Senior TT race on Saturday after sixth and seventh placed finishes in the Superbike and Superstock races earlier in the week.

John, 52, is a legend of the Isle of Man road circuit, with 23 all-time wins and seven victories in the Seniors.

McGuinness said he was "buzzing" to ride his "immaculately turned out" Honda bike as he played his part in a dramatic four-lap race.

The Morecambe man overhauled a four-second deficit to Mike Browne after a slow pit stop, to secure himself the impressive fifth place behind winner Davey Todd, Josh Brookes, John's team-mate Dean Harrison and James Hillier.

"I’m happy with my TT, to do my fastest ever total race time in the six lapper at the start of the event, my fastest ever superstock lap and to get a top-five finish in the senior, I’m happy," said John.

"I’m in a really good place, the bike is mint and I just love riding it. The conditions for the Senior were just perfect too, so to put my factory Honda leathers on and ride the best course in the world is just unbeatable.

"The team made a mistake in the pits, but the lad who did would take a bullet for me and I won’t hear a bad word said about it. It’s one of those things.

"Every time I turn up to see the bike it’s immaculately turned out and I am buzzing. Big congrats to Dean, he’s on the pipe and riding awesome, and for (Honda team-mate) Nathan (Harrison) to get a seventh is fantastic, the kid deserves it."

It was an eventful TTs for 'McPint' who earlier in the week, was reunited with his iconic race leathers after they were stolen from the fan zone, then found a few hours later,

On the roads, he came sixth in the RST Superbike class on Sunday June 2, finishing behind winner Peter Hickman in a thrilling contest, and seventh in the RL360 Superstock behind winner Davey Todd on Tuesday June 4.
