Dave Chisnall beaten in last 16 of Belgian Darts Open

Dave Chisnall

Reigning champion Dave Chisnall was knocked out of the Belgian Darts Open at the last 16 stage.

The Morecambe darts star was beaten 6-4 by Josh Rock on Sunday's finals day in Wiesze.

The up-and-coming Rock, from Northern Ireland, averaged 104 as Chizzy was unable to repeat his heroics of the week before, when he triumphed in the Dutch Darts Championship to win his fifth PDC European Tour title.

The Morecambe-based player had beaten fast-throwing Ricky Evans 6-2 on Saturday to reach the last 16, looking in good form.

Rock went on to reach the semi-finals, losing to eventual champion Michael van Gerwen of the Netherlands, who beat Luke Humphries 8-6 in the final to scoop the £30,000 top prize.

Chizzy won the Belgian Darts Open title in 2022, defeating Andrew Gilding in the final after landing a nine-dart finish in the semi.

Aside from his win in Holland last weekend, Dave also emerged victorious in the Baltic Sea Open in February.
