Worldwide mission to recruit one-hour volunteers is launched in Lancaster

Phil McGrath, manager of the Cornerstone in Lancaster

An ambitious plan has been launched in Lancaster to recruit millions of people around the world to give up one hour to volunteer.

The 'Giving Talents' project aims to galvanise people to show acts of 'outrageous generosity' between 1pm and 2pm on Tuesday, November 29.

The project is a partnership between the Cornerstone community centre in Lancaster, the global movement Giving Tuesday, and six other partners worldwide.

Phil McGrath, manager of The Cornerstone said: “Our aim is to simply make the world a better place.

"We’d love you to get involved – who knows what difference your One Hour can make when added to the hundreds of thousands across the globe?

"A small ripple could well escalate into a tsunami of generosity and that would truly be world changing!”

The Giving Talents projects wants people across the world to give one hour of their time to causes, individuals, groups or organisations that have needs.

You can find out more at the new Giving Talents website.
