Water supply issues: Confirmed Tuesday closures and openings

Businesses and organisations across North Lancashire have been affected by the widespread water supply issues and here is a list of who will be closed or open on Tuesday.

CLOSED

The Exchange pub on Regent Road in Morecambe will remain closed on Tuesday evening. A statement on their Facebook page said: "With still no signs of our water supply returning we will not be reopening this evening as hoped. Hopefully everything will be sorted by the morning."

The Dog and Partridge in Bare also said they would remain closed on Tuesday evening.

The Arndale, Morecambe Bay shopping centre said on Tuesday: "Further to our previous message the Centre is still without water meaning our retailers cannot currently open.

"United Utilities are suggesting this will be resolved by late afternoon and so we should reopen tomorrow."

The York Hotel pub on Lancaster Road in Morecambe said: "Unfortunately we are closed today, Tuesday 20/12/22 due to no water, apologies for any inconvenience caused...hopefully back on and open tomorrow....have a good day!"

The Morecambe Hotel said: "We were hoping to reopen this evening for dinner service but unfortunately we are still without water, therefore will remain closed. Our apologies to all of our customers."

Kenny's Fish and Chips on Lancaster Road in Morecambe said they were closed on Tuesday due to having no water.

Avella Hair and Beauty in Torrisholme said on their Facebook page on Tuesday afternoon: "We have been checking the salon hourly all day to check if the water is on and unfortunately it still isn't. To all clients who had appointments with us today we will be back in touch tomorrow when we hopefully reopen. We are really sorry for any inconvenience this has caused, and it has totally been out of our hands."

Brew Me Sunshine cafe on Victoria Street in Morecambe posted: "We will be closed today (Tuesday) due to the water being switched off in the Morecambe and Lancaster area.

"It is due to be turned back on at 4pm, so hopefully we can be back open tomorrow, we will keep you posted."

Morecambe Visitor Information Centre at the Platform is closed today due to the ongoing issues with the water supply.

The Reel Cinema on Central Drive in Morecambe said on Tuesday morning: "Due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to temporarily close the REEL Cinema Morecambe. We ask for your patience at this time, while we work on re-opening the cinema as soon as possible.

"We are hoping to re-open this evening and will then be able to assist anyone who has been affected by the closure, and has purchased tickets they have been unable to use.

"We apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding, The REEL Cinema team."

The Salt Ayre Leisure Centre swimming pool will be closed on Tuesday.

The Trimpell Club on Out Moss Lane in Morecambe said it would be shut on Tuesday and would reopen on Wednesday at 4pm.

Miaitalia restaurant on Queen Street in Morecambe said on their Facebook page: "With no clarity on what time the water will be back on this evening, we’re unable to prepare for an evening service with that uncertainty.

"All being well, we will be back open as normal, tomorrow, 21st December."

Harry's Bar on Marine Road Central originally hoped to reopen on Tuesday evening, but posted on Facebook: "Unfortunately we are still without water meaning we are still having to stay closed. This isn’t good news with Tuesdays being one of our busy nights. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Hopefully this mess will be sorted tomorrow and we can get back to normal."

OPEN

The Pier Hotel in Morecambe posted on Tuesday evening: "We’re OPEN. Join us tonight at The Pier for our BIG CHRISTMAS QUIZ from 8PM."

The Gregson Centre on Moor Lane in Lancaster announced that their water supply is back on so they will be open today as things stand, and crafts activities previously cancelled will be taking place.

The Festival Market in Morecambe will be open on Tuesday as normal. A spokesperson said: "Despite the disruption to water supplies in the area we are delighted to be open for business. Those traders reliant on water may not be open but the majority of stalls will be open for all your needs and our Betty's Hair Salon will be open for dry cuts and other services. We look forward to welcoming you."

Lancaster Visitor Information Centre at the Storey Centre is open today from 10am to 4pm.

The Cornerhouse bar and restaurant in Lancaster city centre said it was fully open on Tuesday.

The Runner Duck Wine Room on King Street in Lancaster said on Facebook: "POSEIDON HAS BLESSED US and we have water again! We'll be opening as normal from 4pm today when the wine, along with the water, will also be flowing.

"Poseidon is also the god of earthquakes so fingers crossed he chooses not to bless us again."
