Some local schools and nurseries have announced they will close on Tuesday due to the water supply issues in North Lancashire.
Poulton le Sands C of E Primary School, Morecambe said on its Facebook page: "School has no running water for up to 24 hours. This means school CANNOT open tomorrow.
"As this also affects (Morecambe Parish) Church, we are unable to hold the carol service.
"We are heartbroken that the term has ended this way.
"We wish you all a very happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year!"
Lancaster Road Primary School in Morecambe said: "Following further advice from United Utilities we have regretfully taken the decision that we have no option but to close school to all pupils and staff tomorrow, Tuesday 20th December. We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our wonderful children, families, staff and entire school community the very best for the Christmas break. School reopens on Tuesday 3rd January 2023."
Lancaster Road Nursery in Morecambe said: "We have been informed that although engineers are working to get the issues resolved with the water supply, we must plan for water being off for 24 hours. Unfortunately, this means that we have no option but to close nursery tomorrow.
"We hope you all have a lovely Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in the new year."
Great Wood School in Morecambe said: "We have received confirmation that the water is most likely to be off all day tomorrow and advice from the local authority to notify parents that school will be closed tomorrow in order that parents can arrange child care.
"Our apologies. Our first day back will be Thursday January 5."

Unique Kidz & Co centre on Woodhill Lane, Morecambe, which provides activities for disabled young adults and children, posted a statement on their Facebook page:
"This evening (Monday), we had no water at our building. Staff will be in early tomorrow morning (Tuesday) to see if this is still the case.
"If we do not have running water in the morning we will be unable to open. Staff will ring everyone who is due in tomorrow as soon as possible to let them know for certain but we wanted to make everyone aware as it’s highly likely we will be closed."
