A popular TV couple will appear on screen this week in an episode of their birdwatching show which was filmed in Morecambe.

Painting Birds with Jim and Nancy Moir will air on Sky Arts this Wednesday at 9pm.

Jim Moir is best known for his alter ego Vic Reeves and comedy partnership with Bob Mortimer, but he is also a prolific artist and a devoted birdwatcher.

In Painting Birds, Jim teams up with his wife Nancy to travel around the UK and share his two lifelong passions.

They have been travelling the UK in search of birds to sketch. Along the way, they draw ornithologists, local artists, and celebrity pals into their birdwatching and painting adventures.

Jim and Nancy were spotted on Morecambe beach during filming in October.

They will be joined in Morecambe Bay by naturalist Chris Packham, famed for The Really Wild Show and the Springwatch/Autumnwatch series.

The episode includes a visit to Morecambe, whose most famous son the comedian Eric Morecambe was also an ardent birdwatcher, and RSPB Leighton Moss reserve at Silverdale.
