Pub to host Tyson Fury memorabilia auction for Morecambe lifeboat crew

Tyson Fury signing the poster for auction at the Hurley Flyer

A Morecambe pub will auction off a piece of Tyson Fury memorabilia to raise money to help save lives at sea.

A super-sized 6ft by 3ft board signed by the WBC Heavyweight Boxing Champion will be sold to the highest bidder at The Hurley Flyer on Sunday December 18 - the football World Cup Final day.

Proceeds will go to Morecambe RNLI.

The board - which was outside the Westgate pub advertising Fury's fight with Derek Chisora last Saturday - is also signed by Tyson's boxing trainer SugarHill Steward and fellow heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker.

The world heavyweight champ and his friends signed it while visiting the pub to watch World Cup football earlier this week.

The RNLI will use the funds raised to buy a thermal image scanner to help find casualties in minutes and save lives.

A spokesperson for Morecambe RNLI said: "Wow! The Hurley Flyer are auctioning a Tyson Fury poster signed by the boxing legend himself!

"A big thank you to Tyson and The Hurley Flyer for arranging the auction. Get yourself down to The Hurley Flyer on Sunday 18th December."

Fury, known as 'The Gypsy King', lives in Morecambe and was in the Hurley Flyer on Sunday to celebrate England's win in the World Cup against Senegal, just hours after defeating Chisora to retain his title.

The Hurley Flyer is named after the Morecambe hovercraft of the same name.

The auction starts at around 6pm after the World Cup Final on the same date.

Beyond Radio's Greg Lambert will host the auction.
