PHOTOS: Work well under way on new student flats blocks at gateway to Lancaster

Work is well under way on a new student flats development at the gateway to Lancaster city centre

Work is well under way to build a major new student flats development on the one-way system into Lancaster.

Our photos show workers on site building the new student blocks at the land near Bulk Road, Parliament Street and Caton Road.

In November 2022, planning permission was granted for 388 new student flats.

The application by Primus Property Group (PPG) Lancaster was to knock down a former carpet store and car wash and build an eight-storey building and a six-storey building to house new studio flats for students.

The carpet shop and car wash were demolished towards the end of last year and work to build the new accommodation has been taking place over the past weeks.

The new complex will be opposite the Caton Court student village, which was built on Bulk Road in 2018.

Here are more photos of work taking place on the site, on Saturday April 13.

Here is a CGI image of how the completed development might look.
