The North West Air Ambulance attended 2,500 incidents last year and needs to raise £9.5m this year so it can keep on saving lives.
Kelly Stepaniuk, regional fundraiser for the North West Air Ambulance Charity, told Beyond Radio that the air ambulance relies on the support of the public so it can continue to respond to emergencies in our local area.
"We receive no government or NHS funding and it's only thanks to the generosity of people in the area that we were able to attend to the 2,500 incidents last year, so we make a real difference to people in the north west," said Kelly, who is from Lancaster.
"We rely solely on the support of people in the north west to keep our service going."

The North West Air Ambulance has a fleet of three EC135 helicopters which can get to incidents quickly and land in smaller areas than a larger aircraft would require.
Each has a crew of three, one pilot, and either one doctor and a Critical Care or HEMS paramedic, or two Critical Care or HEMS paramedics.
"We provide all the best equipment, the best doctors, the specialists to attend the scenes and provide the best outcomes for our patients," said Kelly.
"We bring the hospital to the patient."
