Management at a Morecambe pub say they want to make their venue "the best and safest in town" after facing a town hall hearing into noise complaints.
Licensee Lee Wallett and the team at The Boardwalk announced they have carried out "an investigation into all of the business" and "have acted decisively" after Lancaster City Council held a review of its premises licence.
Councillors decided to cut the Marine Road West pub's licensed hours of entertainment after neighbours complained about loud noise coming from the venue.
This came after a meeting of the council's licensing sub-committee last Tuesday.
In a statement released on the pub's Facebook page, Mr Wallett said they were dealing with issues raised by the council and police.
"Following the council hearing last week, The Boardwalk would like to update our customers and our community on actions taken.
"Day to day management has improved drastically at the venue over the last few months, with the introduction of shift managers, and an experienced general manager.
"All fire regulations are being met, with further staff training booked with a consultant.
"To increase safety we have installed more cameras to the excellent CCTV system, totalling 13 cameras and increased trained security staff. Those who use the venue regularly will know it is both safe and friendly.
"Our amazing bar staff are better with over three quarters holding Personal Licenses.
"The reported noise issues brought about an investigation into all of the business. This did highlight to the owners that changes were needed.
"We have welcomed this feedback and have acted decisively and with rigour. The pub is a better place for it.
"Music now has to go through a limiter and equipment has been upgraded.
"The pub has had its first phase of renovations with safe unisex toilets, ambient lighting, cellar and line renewed and refurbished, new seating, tables, and flooring throughout the downstairs.
"We have invested because we want to make our venue the best and safest in the town.
"We would like to assure everyone we will always work hard with authorities to improve.
"We thank all our loyal customers, staff and local community, your nice comments across social media haven’t gone unnoticed."
After the hearing, The Boardwalk's hours of "regulated entertainment" on Thursdays to Sundays were reduced to between 10am and 11pm, instead of ending at 1am.
This came after complaints about "repeated, continuous and persistent" loud noise from the pub over a three-year period.
