Beyond Radio set to return to Barefest festival

Beyond Bear with the Lord Mayor of Bare, Chris Mount

Beyond Radio will once again be part of the Barefest festival in the village of Bare in Morecambe.

There will be a carnival and attractions in Bare village on Saturday June 8 from 12.30pm, including the inauguration of the Lord Mayor of Bare.

Village butcher Chris Mount will be taking the role for the second year.

There will also be a parade with the Lord Mayor, town crier Michael Glen, the chair and committee of Bare Community Association, the President of Bare Village Club, local councillors, Beyond Bear and more.

There will be music, stalls, competitions and food and drink; with events taking place in and around Princes Crescent including at local pubs the Dog and Partridge and the Owls' Nest.

Performers will include the Mizzen Crew sea shanty group, Magic and Mayhem, St Mary's School Choir, the Happy Feet School of Dance, Baybeat, Al Robbins, Salsa XS, The Truce and Morecambe's Michael Jackson.

There will also be Graham Jackson taking on a cycle challenge to raise funds for a Motor Neurone Disease charity,  Lancaster and Morecambe Cat Rescue, the RNLI, the Loyne Rotary, Sea Cadets, Brownies, RAFA ,Torrisholme Ramblers. Sing me Sunshine, Wolfwood, Stanley's Community Centre and more.

The event is organised by Bare Community Association.

Beyond Radio will be on hand to provide announcements, entertainment and music.
