Alice in Wonderland announced as this year's 'Play in the Park' in Lancaster

Alice in Wonderland is this year's Play in the Park

Alice in Wonderland has been announced as this year's walkabout theatre show in Lancaster's Williamson Park.

The Dukes will bring its award-winning outdoor summer show to the park from July 19 to August 25.

This adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic is written by Andrew Pollard and directed by Kirstie Davies.

Audiences can join Alice as she navigates through a topsy-turvy wonderland filled with curious characters, nonsensical riddles, and enchanting landscapes - from the mischievous Cheshire Cat to the tyrannical Queen of Hearts.

Last year's Play in the Park, Around the World in 80 Days, drew a total audience of 10,000 despite the wet July and August months.

"This will be my first time working with the Dukes team on the Play in the Park, but I'm excited to see what we create, the team here are full of enthusiasm and excitement as we start the journey on creating another adventure in the beautiful Williamson Park this summer.

"These shows always sell fast with the popular weekend dates always going first so grab your tickets quick!"

Performances will run from Tuesdays to Sundays at 7.15pm.

Tickets must be booked in advance. They are available by calling the box office on 01524 598500 or email tickets@dukeslancaster.org or buy online here.
