Stockton fit as Morecambe prepare for Bolton test

Morecambe put their impressive home record to the test this weekend against Bolton Wanderers.

There’s full match commentary from the Mazuma Stadium tomorrow afternoon on out FM and DAB+ services, with the game kicking off at 12:30pm.

Morecambe will begin the day just outside of the relegation zone, by the slenderest of goal difference.

On home form alone, the Shrimps would be 11th in the League One table, having lost just once in 11 games, and recording five wins in their last six home outings.

Away from home, Derek Adams’ men have picked up just one win, and seven points, the worst record in the division.

‘’It’s another home game. The atmosphere will be very good, it’ll be electric,’’ said the Morecambe manager.

‘’We’ve already had a lot of big fixtures at home this season and the players have responded to that, and I’m sure they are all looking forward to Saturday.

‘’From a footballing point of view, Bolton have done really well this season, and we’re trying to get another three points to put us in a much better position.

‘’Our home record has been excellent and we want to continue that form.

‘’Bolton have been excellent and have taken in a number of players in the January transfer window.’’

Adams is also calling on the fans to play their part and cheer their side on to a positive result.

‘’The role of the fans is massive,’’ he added.

‘’Bolton have sold out their capacity, so the noise from our fans can only be beneficial.

‘’Between now and the end of the season is going to be very tight. A number of teams are in the mix, and the more teams there are, the better the finish to the season.’’

Cole Stockton returns to the squad after missing the defeat at Fleetwood last weekend with a hamstring strain, but fellow striker Michael Mellon will be absent after going off in the second half at Highbury with a similar injury.
