Shrimps search for first home win against high-flying Tractor Boys

Morecambe are looking for their first home win of the season in League One this weekend as high-flying Ipswich Town visit the Mazuma Stadium.

There’s full commentary of the game tomorrow (Saturday) on our FM and DAB+ services from 2:45pm.

The Shrimps, who currently sit bottom of the table, could be without as many as eight members of the first team squad heading into the game, and manager Derek Adams says the Shrimps must pull off shocks against the big sides in the division.

“That’s what’s got to happen,” he said.

“I think we’ve got to win games that shock other teams, and that’s what we’re going to have to try.

“We did that towards the end of last season, and before that as well, we had a number of shocks along the way.’’

Adams’ first game back at the Mazuma was a 1-1 draw with Kieran McKenna’s men.

“They’re a fantastic football club,” he added.

“I think they had 28,000 there on Tuesday night against Cambridge United, they’re one of the best teams in the division.

“We’ve got a really tough task, but that’s any Saturday in League One.

“You come up against really competitive teams, it’s no surprise to us.”
