Morecambe return to action tomorrow (Friday December 2), as Exeter City make the long trip to the Mazuma in League One.
The Shrimps were without a fixture last weekend, as they weren’t involved in the second round of the FA Cup, with their last action being the double header away at Lincoln in the league, and then the Papa Johns Trophy, on November 22.
There’s full commentary of the match on Shrimps Live on our FM and DAB+ services from 7:30pm.
‘’It’s been a useful break,’’ said manager, Derek Adams, speaking to the Club’s website.
‘’It’s allowed the players to rest a bit, but we’ve also had training. Mentally, we played Saturday/Tuesday for a long time and it’s enabled us to gave that period to recuperate and get ready for this game.
‘’We played really well in our last home game (against Portsmouth) and we’re unfortunate not to have won. We create some very good openings in the game and I was delighted with the performance.
‘’Exeter played in the FA Cup last week and come up here on the end of that defeat.
‘’There are a lot of quality sides in the division and we’ve been unfortunate not to have got wins from the draws we’ve had.’’
Morecambe have accrued just 14 points in League One so far this season, and are currently six points from safety inside the relegation zone.
‘’It’s not a worry at this stage,’’ said Adams.
‘’If it’s later in the season it’s a lot of points to make up, but there’s a long way to go and many games to be played.
‘’There are a number of teams that are catchable. Wins are vital.’’
