Shrimps prepare for crucial MK Dons trip

Morecambe travel to MK Dons this weekend, still inside the League One relegation zone.

The Shrimps are 22nd in the table, two points from safety with eight games of the campaign to go, as they go looking for just their second league victory on the road of the season.

A win at Stadium MK would be the Club’s first away from home for 189 days, after they last recorded three points on their travels at Forest Green Rovers back in September.

There’s full match commentary of the game as usual on Shrimps Live tomorrow (Saturday March 25), on our FM and DAB+ services, from 2:45pm.

Mark Jackson’s men have recorded back to back wins in the last couple of weeks, to climb just above the League One bottom four, while Morecambe will be looking for their first win since beating Port Vale last month.

MK Dons have already beaten the Shrimps twice this season, 4-0 in the league at August, and 2-0 nin the Carabao Cup in November.

‘’We understood what the situation was going to be, and nothing has surprised us,’’ said manager Derek Adams.

‘’We have to keep the fight going to the end of the season. It went to the last day last season, so who’s to say it won’t go to the final day this year? We would hope not, but we need to go on a very good run.

‘’We’ve got eight big games to go. MK Dons are in a similar situation to us, in a fight towards the bottom of the league, but they’ve come off the back of two really good wins against Cambridge and Accrington.’’

Midfielder Jake Taylor and defender Max Melbourne remain on the side lines through injury.
