Shrimps looks to make it five straight home wins against Forest Green

Morecambe are looking to build on their impressive home form as Forest Green Rovers come to the Mazuma Stadium this weekend.

There’s full commentary of the game on Shrimps Live on Saturday (February 11) from 2:45pm, on our FM and DAB services.

The Shrimps are on an eight game unbeaten run at home, including four successive wins, ahead of the visit of League One’s bottom club, who recently appointed Duncan Ferguson as their new manager.

‘’They’re all huge games between now and the end of the season,’’ said manager Derek Adams.

‘’It’s important we continue with our home firm, we’ve played well, created opportunities and scored goals, and have been in confident mood.

‘’Forest Green have obviously changed their manager in recent weeks, and personnel.

‘’It was too late in the transfer window for him to do too much, but Duncan had only been in the building for a short period, two games, and we look forward to seeing him on Saturday.

‘’We’ve been able to score a lot of goals at home and are in form. We want to take that into this game and try and do more of the same.’’

Morecambe are looking to bounce back from a 5-0 defeat against Derby County last weekend, a result that saw them move back into the relegation zone, and means the Shrimps have only won just once away from home in the league.

‘’We were well in the game until half time, and I didn’t think the penalty decisions were correct, but that’s happened a number of times this season,’’ added Adams.

‘’We have to win away from home again, we showed already that we can do that, with some good draws as well, but our home form is going to be crucial between now and the end of the season.’’

Midfielders Jake Taylor and Caleb Watts are back in full training, as is defender Max Melbourne, with Adams also revealing that one player who featured last weekend may miss out through injury.
