Report, highlights & reaction: Tranmere Rovers 2-3 Morecambe

Morecambe came from 2-0 down to win it with the last kick of the game in a dramatic 3-2 victory over Tranmere Rovers in League Two.

It was a disastrous start for the Shrimps, who found themselves two goals down after just ten minutes.

Firstly, Jacob Bedeau was dispossessed in his own half, and Harvey Saunders raced into the penalty area before squaring for Rob Apter to tap home from close range.

Then, Chris Stokes tripped his man in the box, with the referee having no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Connor Jennings converted from 12 yards.

Morecambe then halved the arrears a few minutes later.

Julian Larsson initially pulled the trigger from the edge of the box, his strike landed at the feet of Brown who turned and smashed the ball past Luke McGee.

Ged Garner then came close to levelling proceedings midway through the first half after latching onto Stokes’ ball over the top but his first time fierce volley was straight at the keeper.

With 67 minutes on the clock, Rovers came close to extending their lead after catching the Shrimps on the counter. Apter broke away down the right before looking to bend one into the far corner, though the save proved comfortable for Mair.

At the other end, McGee denied Slew at the near post, before the Shrimps got back on terms inside the last ten minutes.

A lovely move through the middle saw the ball played out to Joel Senior by Joe Adams down the right, he delivered a cross which put the ball on a plate for Slew who made no mistake from close range.

With the last kick of the game, the Shrimps dramatically found a winner.

Gwion Edwards was upended 30 yards out following a mazy run, and up stepped Jacob Davenport to curl a perfect left footed free kick into the top corner, to complete the comeback.
