After an even opening, the visitors took the lead on 17 minutes, when Miles Leaburn controlled a loose ball in the box and volleyed home from close range, following a corner that wasn’t cleared.

Corey Blackett-Taylor was then denied at the near-post by Connor Ripley, before the Addicks man doubled the advantage soon after from the resulting corner. A deep one to the back post was headed across the six yard area by Leaburn and tapped home by Blackett-Taylor from close range.

It was 3-0 just before half time. Tyreece Campbell had time and space in the area and crossed into the near post to find Blackett-Taylor who again found the net from a few yards out.

In the second half, Oumar Niasse had an effort saved by Charlton goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer, before Morecambe got themselves back into the game. Niasse beat his man on the left, fed the ball inside to Dan Crowley who managed to find Donald Love on the overlap, who slotted the ball into the bottom-left corner.

Dan Crowley went close from the edge of the area, before Charlton rapped the game up in the last 20 minutes. A well worked move down the right saw the ball fed through to Scott Fraser who curled the ball into the far corner from inside the box.

The result leaves the Shrimps still inside the relegation zone in League One, two points from safety with nine games to play.
