The Shrimps slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Lincoln to remain in the League One bottom four.
Goals from Max Sanders and Ben House were the difference, with Jensen Weir grabbing a late consolation for the Shrimps.
Morecambe had a chance on nine minutes, with Kieran Phillips through on goal shooting wide of the far post.
Connor Ripley tipped over a deflected over shortly after, before the hosts took the lead on 19 minutes. A free-kick on the edge of the box from Max Sanders took a cruel deflection and found its way into the bottom corner of Connor Ripley’s goal.
Morecambe hit the post on the half hour. A great piece of skill and pull back from Caleb Watts found Kieran Phillips six yards out, but his snap effort came back off the woodwork.
Derek Adams made one change at half-time, with Cole Stockton coming on to replace Caleb Watts.
It was Morecambe who had a good opportunity on goal in the opening five minutes of the second half, as Kieran Phillips directed a header towards goal following a cross from Adam Mayor, but the header was saved by the keeper.
Morecambe kept pushing for an equaliser but found themselves two goals down. A shot was well-saved by Ripley, only for the ball to fall into the path of Ben House, who tapped into an empty net from close range.
Cole Stockton thought he'd found that elusive first goal of the season moments later, as he picked up the ball from around 40 yards out and tried to chip the ‘keeper, the effort hitting the post and bouncing clear.
Morecambe finally halved the deficit ten minutes from time. A clearance outside of the penalty area fell to Jensen Weir on the edge of the box, who controlled the ball and fired home left footed for his sixth goal of the season.
Despite late pressure, it wasn’t quite to be for the Shrimps, who are now six points adrift of safety in the League One relegation zone.
