Joe Adams has joined the Shrimps on loan from Wigan Athletic until the end of the season.
Adams' career took off after linking up with Eastleigh FC's Academy before signing for Sholing in the Southern League Division One on non-contract terms.
After hitting the ground running and quickly proving popular amongst teammates, staff and supporters alike, the attacking midfielder was called up for England Schoolboys U18s in December 2021 before moving to the DW Stadium the following February.
The 19-year-old made an instant impression with a debut goal hours after putting pen to paper and has since become a regular in the Latics' U21s, where consistent performances were rewarded with call up to the first team bench for a Carabao Cup tie against Fleetwood Town.
Adams, who featured for Wigan's first team in pre-season, spoke of his excitement after arriving at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium.
"I'm really looking forward to it, it just came about the last couple of days, I was told the loan was a possibility and when it got done, I was buzzing," he said.
"I've been on a few loans which were four or five games each, they were good experiences but here, a proper loan until the end of the season, I'm looking forward to it.
"I'd say my best position is a number 10; I'll run all game, make runs in behind and I like to get on the ball as well. I'll take people on and hopefully get some goals and assists."
