Morecambe boxer Nelson Birchall signs with Tyson Fury's promoter Frank Warren

Nelson Birchall

Up and coming Morecambe boxer Nelson Birchall has signed with Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions - becoming a stablemate of Tyson Fury.

After an incredible amateur career which included nine north west area titles, seven national titles and a world bronze medal, Birchall is now a professional boxer and has had three pro fights since December last year, winning all three.

Queensberry Promotions also promote the former world heavyweight champion from Morecambe, ‘The Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury, as well as other high-profile boxers such as Joseph Parker and Joe Joyce.

Frank Warren (pictured below, second left, with Tyson Fury, his dad John Fury and trainer Sugar Hill) is one of the world's most successful boxing promoters and managers, having also guided the careers of legends such as Prince Naseem Hamed, Ricky Hatton, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank.

TNT Sports will broadcast Birchall’s fights as part of their partnership with Queensberry Promotions.

Birchall's pro debut was at Bolton Wanderers’ ToughSheet Stadium, beating Eliecer Quezada on points.

His second pro fight came against Miguel Zamora at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester in February where he scored a third round stoppage win.

His most recent fight was last month at Knowsley Culture Park in Liverpool against Naeem Ali, winning on points.

Birchall, managed by Lee Eaton, now trains in Liverpool, working with JMC Boxing after several years at Jennings Gym alongside Michael and David Jennings.

“I’m over the moon to be now signed and to be doing the thing I love most, now on the biggest of stages and platforms live on TNT Sports," said Nelson, speaking to Beyond Radio.

“A massive thank you to my manager Lee Eaton for getting the deal over the line, this is just the start of some massive nights for me with another announcement on my next fight on a massive card with some huge names on it.

“Any businesses/companies who would like to jump on board with sponsoring me get in contact via social media.”
