Morecambe aim for ten unbeaten at Mazuma against the Posh

Morecambe will look to make it ten games unbeaten at home as Peterborough United visit the Mazuma Stadium this weekend.

There’s full commentary of the game on Shrimps Live tomorrow afternoon (February 18), on our FM and DAB+ services from 2:45pm.

After a tough few games on the road, where the Shrimps have slipped to defeat at the hands of Derby County, Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday in midweek, Derek Adams’ men come up against a Posh side now managed by Darren Ferguson, in his fourth spell in charge of the club.

Peterborough sit ninth in the table, nine points outside the play off spots, and have lost back-to-back games.

Morecambe have won four of their last five at the Mazuma as they look to extend their unbeaten run to ten games, and climb out the League One relegation zone.

The Shrimps are currently 21st in the table, one point from safety.

‘’We need to get back to winning ways and want to continue that (unbeaten run) against Peterborough, to keep progressing,’’ said Adams.

‘’They are trying to get into those play off positions and have changed their manager.

‘’We‘ve got 16 games to go. During the last two years, the club has seen a great transition. What the first team squad has done has enabled the club to double their revenue. Season tickets are through the roof.

‘’The players will also complete a thousand hours of work within the community, and from an Academy point of view, we’ve promoted one of the players into the first team squad.

‘’We’re delighted to assist the club in this way, and the next way we want to assist is by staying in this division.’’

Captain Donald Love remains a doubt for the match, after the defender missed Tuesday’s game through injury.
