Lancaster City will look for a third consecutive win on home turf when they play Whitby Town.

Saturday's match will be the start of three home games in succession for Mark Fell’s men.

Lancaster City beat Whitby Town 2-1 back in November with Dale Whitham, now at Ashton United, getting the winner on that day.

The Dollies have beaten Matlock Town 2-1 and FC United of Manchester 2-0 in their two most recent matches at the Giant Axe.

Their last two league games were both on the road. A 2-1 defeat to Stafford Rangers was followed up by a 0-0 draw with Guiseley, but Lancaster’s performance was one that warranted more than just a point.

Lancaster currently occupy 15th in the NPL Premier Division, while Whitby Town are in 12th after picking up many points in recent weeks.

Saturday’s home team are on a strong run of form at the moment, having won their last four games, all by one goal margins. The Blues have tended to leave it late in games to get goals recently, so Lancaster will need to be defensively resolute right up until the end.

Looking ahead to the game, Lancaster City manager Mark Fell said that it won’t be easy as Whitby are “flying” and “we will have to impose ourselves”.

However, Fell took lots of encouragement from the Dollies’ performance in the 0-0 draw against Guiseley on Tuesday and said “if we perform like that, we’ll be absolutely fine” and safe from any talk of a relegation battle.

Lancaster City v Whitby Town kicks off at the Giant Axe at 3pm on Saturday (February 25).

Adult tickets are priced at £10, with concessions (which includes those with a season ticket for a club in the top four divisions) at £7. Tickets for juniors (ages 14-17) are priced at £5 and under 14s go for free if accompanied by an adult. Armed forces enter for free on production of their warrant card.
