Lancaster City Ladies beat Cadley Ladies by their joint biggest margin of victory this season with a 13-1 win.

Captain Kayleigh Young scored five goals, Jody Campbell – the player of the match - bagged four, Lydia Fawcett and Sarah Haslam got one each and there were two own goals as well.

The incredible result on Sunday at Giant Axe leaves them third with two games in hand on the leaders who have four points extra.

Lancaster City Ladies manager Scott King told Beyond Radio “we played some good football, we kept the ball moving on a poor pitch and created chance after chance throughout the game. Every time we went forward we looked like scoring.

“There were some strong performances from the ladies but Player of the Match Jody Campbell was excellent today!”

A key player for the club, Becky Upjohn, suffered a bad knee injury in last week’s victory over Whitehaven Ladies but was showing her support from the sidelines on Sunday.

The club have had some fantastic results this season, their first since they were reformed last summer, including a 10-2 away victory over Sir Tom Finney Development Women, an 8-0 Lancashire Women’s Challenge Cup win over Penwortham Town Ladies and a 14-2 demolishing of Blackpool Town Ladies.

Their next game is a home game against Sir Tom Finney Development Women next Sunday (February 12), followed by a trip to Blackpool Town Ladies on February 19.

Many Dolly Ladies’ players have recently been sponsored but there are still some available for sponsorship for just £25. To get in touch, contact lancastercityladies@gmail.com
