Lancaster City Ladies now know their league schedule for their second season as a reformed team.

The Lancashire FA have announced the fixtures for the upcoming Lancashire Women’s County League Championship League.

It will be the Dolly Ladies’ first year in that division after they were promoted as champions of the Division 1 North/West last season.

The team are now managed by duo Paul Winstanley and Becky Upjohn. They have taken over from Scott King, who led the side to the league and Challenge Cup double before leaving in June.

Their first league game sees them visit Whitehaven AFC Ladies, the side who were second in the Division 1 North/West and finished two points behind Lancaster.

That game takes place at 2pm on Sunday, September 3 at Scholes Bank Playing Fields at the County Ground in Whitehaven.

Their first home game on September 10 is against Horwich St Mary’s Ladies, who were also promoted as champions last season, but from the Division 1 South/East.

The two sides faced each other in the LFA Women’s County League Challenge Cup, which the Dolly Ladies won 5-3.

The team are likely to have more games at the Giant Axe’s main pitch this season.

Two home games were held on the main Giant Axe pitch last season with over a hundred fans in attendance, while other home games took place on the junior pitches.

“We have had encouraging discussions with the club board regarding getting more matches on to the Giant Axe this season, so hopefully, we can attract a decent gate when we do," said a Lancaster City spokesperson.

"Keep an eye on your social media for more information on this!"
