Festive Fun Run rounds off busy 2023 for Lancaster and Morecambe Athletics Club

The Festive Fun Run took place on December 27.

Lancaster and Morecambe Athletics Club ended 2023 with their annual Festive Fun Run last month.

The 4k event, on December 27, was a huge success, with over 200 people taking part.

LMAC’s Ben Brassington finished first with a time of 12 minutes and 59 seconds.

Three of the club’s runners took part in the Myerscough 10 mile run on December 3.

John Brassington, Peter Heald and Gary Atkinson finished with times of 1:00:10, 1:06:57 and 1:07:17 respectively.

There was heavy LMAC representation in the Mid Lancs Cross Country event in Ryelands Park on December 9, where athletics clubs compete in different age categories:

On December 17, Steve Walsh ran the Aintree Half Marathon in 2:08:51.

On the same day, James and John Brassington ran Lancaster Race Series’ 10K Christmas Cracker in 36:29 (third place) and 37:06 respectively.

Nicola Barnes ran LRS’ Turkey Trot Half Marathon in 2:21:32.

In the Winter Tolkien Trail Race, organised by Pennine Trails, on December 30, Stephen Perry and Rob Clayton both finished with times of 1:28:13, while Nicola Barnes recorded a time of 1:30:55.

On the final day of 2023, four LMAC runners took part in the Ribble Valley 10k:
