16 first team players released by Morecambe FC as club confirms retained list

Multi Player of the Season winner Joel Senior has turned down a new deal with the Shrimps

The first team captain, club captain, and a multi Player of the Season are among a host of senior players released by Morecambe FC.

The Shrimps have confirmed their retained list, following the conclusion of the season.

Morecambe will enter the summer with just five first team players under contract, including Charlie Brown, Gwion Edwards and Stuart Moore, while an option has been triggered on Kayden Harrack, and Academy striker Saul Fox-Akande has signed his first professional deal.

A number of senior players have rejected a new contract, including Player of the Season Joel Senior, Farrend Rawson, David Tutonda, and captain Donald Love.

Senior players not offered a new deal include Jacob Bedeau, Yann Songo’o and Jake Taylor.

The list in full is:

Under contract: Charlie Brown, Gwion Edwards, Stuart Moore.

Option in contract triggered: Kayden Harrack.

Professional contract accepted: Saul Fox-Akande.

Offer of an extended contract made: JJ McKiernan.

Offers made during season but not accepted: Farrend Rawson, David Tutonda, Donald Love, Joel Senior.

Not offered a contract at this time: Adam Smith, Jacob Bedeau, Chris Stokes, Max Melbourne, Oscar Threlkeld, Jacob Davenport, Yann Songo’o, Jake Taylor, Brandon Barker, Cammy Smith, Jordy Hiwula, Jordan Slew.

Loanees returning to parent club: Archie Mair, Nelson Khumbeni, Joe Adams, Ged Garner, Julian Larsson.
