A super-mum and world record holder from Heysham has run the 2023 London Marathon dressed as a rhino after last year running as a Snickers bar!
Kellie Clark donned the rhino costume to help raise money for Save the Rhinos - just 12 months after she last ran the world's greatest marathon in a chocolate bar costume.
Mum-of-four Kellie earned herself a Guinness World Record for that achievement in 2022 - when her time of four hours and 26 minutes made her the fastest woman ever to run the marathon dressed as a confectionery item!
She has run 18 marathons in total, raising around £20,000 for charities.
In 2020, when the London Marathon was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic, she ran the entire 26.2 miles in the pub garden of The Royal at Heysham, which she runs with her husband Alasdair.
This year she decided to help the Save the Rhinos charity to raise awareness of, and funds for, rhino conservation.
Kellie was part of a group of Rhino Runners whose sponsorship helped to provide support for anti-poaching rangers, conservation officers, rhino monitors, and enforcement officers around the world.
She has raised more than £2,000 and her Justgiving page can be found here.
Kellie was one of the 48,000 people who took on the marathon from Greenwich to The Mall on April 23.
