Ukraine: fundraising page set up for Polish city with close Lancaster ties

A fundraising page has been set up to help the Polish city of Lublin, which has close ties with the Lancaster district.

The city has seen a large influx of refugees fleeing from Ukraine, which is situated just 70 miles from the Ukrainian border.

Now, the Mayor of Lublin has reached out to the city’s friends for help as it struggles to help so many vulnerable people.

Lancaster is closely connected with the Polish city of Lublin, having been twinned since 1994.

The Mayor says that they are particularly short of medical supplies, sanitary products and long-lasting food items, so the fundraising page has been set up to allow money to go directly to Lublin to help those in need at this most upsetting time of their lives.
