Three arrested after youths cause havoc with stolen motorbikes in Lancaster and Morecambe

Three people have been arrested after youths went on a spree of anti-social behaviour using stolen motorbikes in the Lancaster and Morecambe area.

Police have recovered four stolen bikes, the latest on Thursday afternoon from the Westgate area of Morecambe.

"Firstly thank you to everyone who has reported nuisance motorbikes," said a police spokesperson.

"There has been an increase in thefts of these vehicles recently, with the bikes being used by young people without helmets causing anti-social behaviour to all areas of the district.

"We would like to report that over the last few days we have recovered four motorbikes and arrested three people. The latest of these bikes recovered this afternoon from the Westgate area.

"Please can we ask that owners of motorbikes please keep your bike locked, ideally with disc/handlebar lock and out of view."

Three offenders were arrested after riding a stolen motorbike around Williamson Park in Lancaster on Tuesday evening.

Police Community Support Officers closed the park but the culprits dumped the bike and fled the scene, only to be later arrested after being tracked down by a Lancashire police dog called Bozzie.
