Spirit of much-loved Morecambe man lives on through West End music festival

Tom Marshall who founded The Melting Pot community music project in Morecambe

A festival will be held in the West End of Morecambe in memory of a man who wanted to bring people together through music.

TomFest II will celebrate the life of Tom Marshall, who set up the Morecambe Community Music Melting Pot Project six years ago.

Tom, who passed away in 2021, was a well-known West End resident whose spirit will live on through the second annual festival, to be held in the West End Gardens this weekend (September 3 and 4).

He set up The Melting Pot to bring like-minded people who have an interest in music together, to get people out the house and on a stage in the community while making new friendships and giving people a platform to show off their skills, to gain more confidence and learn new skills and techniques regardless of age, background or circumstances.

The festival will be held at the Picture Frame in the West End Gardens from 2pm to 9pm on Saturday and 2pm until late on Sunday.
