Special Harvest Market comes to Lancaster tomorrow

A special Harvest Market is coming to Lancaster tomorrow (Friday September 16).

The Seasonal Market will return to Lancaster's central market square once again to celebrate Harvest with seasonal local food and drink. The market will also see the launch of the 2022 autumn edition of THRIVE Magazine and the FoodFutures Closing Loops project.

The market celebrates the harvest time, the bounty of local produce available in Lancaster District and the diversity of local food and crafts. It brings local farmers and small independent businesses into the heart of Lancaster on the historic market square. The FoodFutures seasonal markets in Lancaster are currently happening every three months, and they make for a fun day out for local residents as well as visitors.

A variety of food and craft stalls will be available, plus live music through the day.

The FoodFutures Closing Loop climate action project will have stalls with information and activities, along with cooking demos with free tasters throughout the day,

The market will also see the launch of the 2022 autumn edition of THRIVE Magazine. THRIVE pulls together a collection of local stories and citizen journalism to share knowledge, skills, recipes and ideas around all things food related.

The seasonal markets and the THRIVE magazine are part of the work of FoodFutures, North Lancashire’s award winning Sustainable Food Place initiative, and their vision for a thriving local food system that is healthy, resilient and fair.
