Six-year-old Morecambe boy produces book of his Hadrian's Wall fundraising trek

Fraser Manley with his book telling the story of his Hadrian's Wall trek

A six-year-old Morecambe boy has produced a book of his adventures while walking the length of Hadrian's Wall to raise thousands for his school.

Fraser Manley's story 'My Hadrian's Wall Adventure (Manley's Marathon)' tells how he walked for eight days and 93 miles in the summer heat of 2022.

Fraser wrote the book with the help of his grandfather John - known to him as 'Gog' - and will now be available in the school library, with other copies being given to family, friends and other people who supported him on his journey.

The Westgate Primary School pupil handed over £4,500 to his school after completing the walk from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway.

During the walk Fraser reached a height of 1132 feet, passed 16 forts, 79 milecastles and 160 turrets.

He was accompanied by his dad Miles, John, the family's dog Marley and other supporters during the trek.

Morecambe FC fan Fraser was Highly Commended in the Lancashire Young Citizen of the Year awards for 2023 after raising the money to buy books for the school library,

See the video clip below of Fraser on the walk.
