An award-winning Torrisholme-based charity has been awarded a quarter of a million pounds by the National Lottery.
Neuro DropIn is based at Torrisholme Methodist Church and supports people who have neurological conditions.
The charity was set up by Sharon Jackson and helps anyone affected by multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson's disease, stroke, epilepsy, dementia, cerebral palsy, Huntington's disease, ME, MG, MSA and acquired brain injury.
"We are thrilled to announce that we have won a funding grant from the National Lottery which over five years is a total of £250,000, an amazing amount of money," said a Neuro DropIn spokesperson.
"The grant is specifically to support core salary costs and is worth £50,000 towards our annual spend which when we calculate overheads and the cost of delivering the support and services our members value, is over £110,000 p.a.
"We will do our utmost to find the difference and to raise the funds we need to develop support services confident in the knowledge that because of this helping hand from The National Lottery and your help we have a fighting chance of realising our goal."

The charity offers numerous classes and groups to help people with neurological conditions who may feel isolated and support their mental well-being.
