Police issue warning after rise in anti-social behaviour and hoax calls

Lancaster and Morecambe Police have issued a warning following a rise in anti-social behaviour and hoax emergency calls.

They’re reminding residents that lives can be put at risk if resources are diverted away from more serious incidents for no good reason, and are asking parents in particular to remind their children of their responsibilities.

A spokesperson for the force said: ‘’Could it be your children causing anti-social behaviour in Lancaster, Morecambe, Carnforth and surrounding residential areas?

‘’We have had an increasing amount of calls from members of the public regarding anti-social behaviour and also hoax calls to all three emergency services.

‘’This is not only causing members of the public alarm and distress but taking emergency services away from general calls and endangering lives.

‘’Please help us by educating your children and knowing where they are.’’
