Police appeal to find masked man on bike after knifepoint robbery in Lancaster

Police have released a CCTV image of a masked man on a bike who they want to speak to after a knifepoint robbery in Lancaster.

Police want to talk to the man as investigations continue after a shop assistant was threatened with a knife at a store on Langdale Place.

A man carrying a knife entered the shop, took around £165 from the till and made off on a bike towards Coniston Road.

It is believed he then cycled onto the canal path.

The offender is described as white and of medium build. He was wearing a dark coloured mask, a distinctive dark hoody, grey trousers and black trainers.

He was also wearing what is believed to be an orange sock on his left hand and a blue sock on his right hand. The mountain bike is described as black, with white writing and white front suspension forks.

The incident happened on Sunday April 24 at around 6.30pm.

PC Nathan Hughes, of Lancaster Police, said: “We are looking to speak to the man in the CCTV images in connection with this offence.

“It is believed the offender cycled on Lancaster Road, from the general direction of Bulk Road, before going into the shop and threatening the victim.

“If anyone has any information regarding the identity of this male or anyone saw the person described riding around on Sunday evening please contact us on 101 quoting incident reference 1299 of April 24."
