PHOTOS: Reunion event brings together icons of Lancaster radio station The Bay

Icons from Lancaster radio station The Bay were reunited at a special event to mark 30 years since its launch.

The Bay 30th Reunion Party was held at the Wagon and Horses pub on St George's Quay on Wednesday night - exactly 30 years since the station first broadcasted on March 1 1993.

Some of the station team - including DJs, newsreaders, sales, support and technical staff and friends/supporters of The Bay - came back together to reminisce about the 25-year history of the station, which was based just a few yards down the road from the pub.

The reunion was organised by former station director Bill Johnston, who now runs the Wagon and Horses.

Popular former The Bay presenters including Danny Matthews, Darren Milby, Tony 'Cooky' Cookson, DJ Pep, Clive Lee and Mike Shaft - who was part of the original line-up in 1993 - were all in attendance, along with many more people who contributed to The Bay's success.

The Bay ran for 25 years until it was bought out by Global in 2018, who rebranded it as Heart. The station premises closed in 2019.
