Paralympic gold medallist from Morecambe appears as guest judge on hit TV cooking show

Stuart Robinson on The Great British Menu

Morecambe's Paralympic gold medallist has helped decide the winner of a hit TV cooking programme.

Stuart Robinson MBE appeared on Thursday night's edition of The Great British Menu on BBC2.

Stuart, who won gold with the Great Britain rugby team at the Tokyo Paralympics and is aiming for a second triumph in Paris this year, helped choose which of two chefs went through to the final to represent North West England.

On the show, top chefs from across the UK showcase amazing culinary talent, aiming to get through to cook a spectacular banquet themed on the Olympics and Paralympics.

Stuart became a world class wheelchair athlete after losing both his legs while serving for the Armed Forces in Afghanistan in 2014.

He scored 14 tries in a thrilling final as Great Britain overcame the USA at the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021.

It was the first ever Paralympics team gold for the Brits, and they were also the first European nation to win any kind of Paralympic medal in wheelchair rugby.

The Great British Menu is hosted by Andi Oliver. On Thursday's show, Stuart was also joined by celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, and guests comedian Ed Gamble and chef Nisha Katona.
