Free energy advice pop-up shops for people worried about their rising bills are coming to Morecambe and Lancaster.
The shops, which will be based in the Arndale shopping centre in Morecambe and Marketgate in Lancaster, will include examples of energy saving technologies for the home as well as information and advice to help bring your household bills down.
They will be hosted by Lancaster and Morecambe College, and local energy social enterprise Green Rose CIC.
The Morecambe shop will be open from September 14 to October 15, and the Lancaster shop from October 18 to 29.
There will also be the opportunity learn about energy-saving, green technologies, such as heat pumps and solar panels and staff will be able to advise on grants and benefits available to those struggling with high bills.
"Local residents will be able to drop in while they’re doing their shopping and find answers to their energy questions," said Georgina Sommerville, Director of Green Rose.
"They can browse the displays or speak to our staff and volunteers. We are also running free workshops to learn more about energy saving home improvements and helpful habits that save on bills. Eligible households can also arrange an in-depth appointment for free 1-2-1 advice."
Maggie Cawthorn, Sustainability Project Lead at Lancaster and Morecambe College, said: "There are some simple things you can do to reduce how much energy you use and to help reduce your bill. This, in turn, also helps to reduce global warming. By popping in to see us you can get lots of suggestions to do both!"
