Morecambe pub landlady opens new Cafe of Eden

A Morecambe pub landlady has opened a new cafe on the Promenade with a nod to the town's Eden future.

Sylvia Wheeler has opened the Cafe of Eden on Marine Road opposite the Clock Tower and is looking forward to welcoming customers to her new venture.

Sylvia, who was born and bred in Morecambe, is also the licensee of the New Inn pub in Poulton Square and has a wealth of experience in the licensed trade.

She decided to branch out into running a cafe and felt the Eden name was perfect, given the impending arrival of the Eden Project to the town.

The cafe has undergone a full refurbishment and opened for the first time on Wednesday.

It was previously home to The View vintage rock 'n' roll cafe, which closed in October after the retirement of owners Marilyn and Pete Blackburn.

The New Inn pub is pictured below.
