RNLI crew members, supporters, Stormy Stan and Batala drummers at the Mayday Mile event

Morecambe lifeboat crew have walked a Mayday Mile to raise money for the vital life-saving service.

RNLI volunteers were joined by the Batala samba drumming group and Morecambe lifeboat mascot Stormy Stan at the walk on Sunday.

They walked between the two lifeboat stations on the promenade, raising a total of £431.96.

"All at Morecambe RNLI wish to pass on a massive thanks to all who contributed and took part," said a Morecambe lifeboat spokesperson.

"A huge thank you to Lancaster Batala Band who played a key part in our MayDay walk keeping us all entertained and our spirits high."

The Mayday Mile is an annual RNLI appeal calling on people to walk, run or cycle a mile to raise money for the service which saves lives at sea.
