Morecambe club DJ returns to TV show The Bidding Room hoping to sell iconic London Underground sign

DJ Johnny Pep (centre) with presenter Nigel Havers and antiques expert Simon Bower on BBC1's The Bidding Room

A club DJ from Morecambe will return to our television screens trying to convince antiques dealers to buy an iconic London Underground sign.

DJ Johnny Pep will appear on BBC1's show The Bidding Room this Wednesday, March 13 at 3.45pm.

This will be the second time collectibles fan Pep has been on the TV show hosted by actor Nigel Havers, having previously appeared in 2021.

During the programme, antiques sellers come face to face with five dealers who battle it out to make the highest bid.

On next Wednesday's episode, Pep will bring an iconic piece of London signage - an old Knightsbridge underground sign - which the DJ hopes will raise enough money from the dealers to fund home renovations.

But will the sign find favour with the experts, or will it all go down the tubes for Johnny?

Real name Peter Roberts, the charismatic Pep was a DJ at pubs and clubs in the Lancaster and Morecambe area for many years, most famously at Brooks and The Carleton. He continues to ply his trade behind the decks at venues across the North West and further afield.

Fast-talking Johnny is a former presenter on The Bay radio, and has previously appeared on TV shows including Come Dine With Me, May the Best House Win, Posh Pawn, Four Rooms and The Weakest Link.
