Morecambe band calls for help to create 'carnival atmosphere' for music video shoot on Promenade

Indifferent Monkey are calling for help from the community for their next music video

A Morecambe band is calling for local people to help create a carnival atmosphere for their next music video to be filmed on the Prom.

Indifferent Monkey is planning to film their video on Sunday September 3 at 8am at a location to be announced, having received permission to film on the Promenade.

The four-piece group is asking for people to come along in masks, head dresses, glittery costumes, maybe even on stilts and in banana costumes, to create a circus, festival or Mardi-Gras style atmosphere for the shoot.

The song is called 'Go Supersonic' and covers the topic of overcoming mental health issues.

The trip rock band - Pippa, Joe Lowe, Brendan Syson and Graham Darbyshire - filmed their last music video for their single 'Je t'Aime, Je 'tAime' in an old squash court at the Queens Market in Morecambe town centre.

They recently performed two gigs in London and will play at Deva Fest in Cheshire next month.

A workshop will be held for anyone who wants to be involved with the video shoot, at the Queens Market on Victoria Street on Sunday August 27 at 2pm.

The band said they had already had a "fantastic response from people wanting to get involved".

They said they'd had interest from a "dance/acro group, a young person's dance school, a cool roller skating group, an amazing drag queen, a Cleopatra and a pirate" but still wanted more people to come forward, including sponsors and marshals.

They will be supporting two charities on the day - Morecambe RNLI and A.C.E mental health charity for young people.

If you would like to get involved email Joe Lowe at joe@dazyproductions.com or see the Facebook Group 'Help Make a Big Production Music Video'.
