Mobile Covid-19 bus delivers 4,000 booster jabs to Lancaster and Morecambe residents

After giving 4,000 people Covid-19 booster jabs in 3 months, the pop-up vaccination bus - which has made weekly visits to Asda and Salt Ayre Leisure Centre in Lancaster and at Morecambe library - made its final visit this week.

Leader of Lancaster City Council, Councilllor Caroline Jackson, visited the team to thank those who had given their time to help keep residents safe.

Cllr Jackson said: ‘’What a change a year has made,’’ she said.

‘’Last Christmas was disturbed by our fears and numbers if cases. This year, it’s feels free, and we’re going to see our families, but it’s thanks to initiatives such as this bus.

‘’That’s how we’ve moved from vulnerable and afraid, to being confident.

‘’We’ve got a lot to thank the people who have worked on these buses for. They are wonderful, reassuring, and so good at their job. Thanks to everyone who has given up their time to make us feel safe and secure this Christmas.’’
