Lancaster's national schoolboys boxing champion is aiming for the very top

Josh Sharp with his trainers Frank Harrington and Dave Higham

Lancaster's new England schoolboys boxing champion says his ultimate aim is to follow in his hero Tyson Fury's footsteps and win a world title.

Twelve-year-old Josh Sharp spoke to Beyond Radio, with his trainers Frank Harrington and Dave Higham, following his win in the 41kg category of the England schoolboys amateur boxing tournament in London last month.

Josh, who trains at Frank's Coastal Amateur Boxing Club in Morecambe, is looking forward to joining up with the cream of the country's young amateur boxers at a Schools Academy session in Sheffield this Sunday (June 5).

The Central Lancaster High School pupil said he wants to "make it right to the top" and "become world champion" like his hero, the Morecambe-based world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
